Permanent and temporary staff
The director of the Stichting Textile Research Centre (TRC) is Dr Gillian Vogelsang-Eastwood. She is a trained textile archaeologist and a specialist in Middle Eastern textiles and dress and the history of embroidery in general. Other staff include Shelley Anderson and Maria Linkogle, both of whom are general volunteers, and especially helping with PR (Facebook and TRC Needles); Beverley Bennett, working on the quilt collection and looking after the TRC shop; Loren Mealey, general volunteer, working on the planned Ties to History exhibition (October 2020); Marieke Roozeboom, who runs the library and manages the IT; Lies van de Wege, who looks after the depot, with the help of Myrthe Krook; and Karin Winkel, who assists with the library.

Furthermore, the TRC is providing internships at various levels to students from Leiden University (per 1st December 2017):

Expert advice
In addition, the work of the TRC is supported by a number of people who give specialist advice, or who undertake specific tasks, as for instance Els de Baan on Western fashion; Dr. Anna Beerens, for Japanese and Western fashion; Dr. Chrystel Brandenburgh, on archaeological textiles, especially from Northwestern Europe; Coen van der Geest, who helps with IT, especially related to the database and digital catalogues; Joost Kolkman, who maintains the TRC website; Olga Leromina, who helps with lace identification; Deandra de Looff, who specialises on archaeological textiles; René Lugtigheid, who advises on conservation techniques; Dr. Tineke Rooijakkers, who advises on Middle Eastern textiles and dress; and Paul Spijker, who advises on African textiles.
